Concept Furniture take 2nd place in epic round the world sailing race (round the Solent actually………)
Once again, the salty sea dogs at Concept were invited to participate in the annual Reed Exhibition Regatta, delivering a commendable 2nd place in an extended field this year of 11 boats.
The conditions were challenging both on and off-shore with the 1st night under canvass interrupted by a massive storm that left more water on the camping field than in the Solent, the sailing on the Thursday was hampered by light winds in the afternoon, followed by some more summer rain.
The Concept crew (Nathan, Dave, Tilly, Jess, Raj & Iain) worked like a well-oiled machine, splicing the main brace and jibing and tacking to great effect, only to be pipped at the post by the Reed number 1 boat, congrats to the winners and, to all who participated.
One of the Concept crew suffered a minor injury, face planting after tripping over the guy ropes in the dark (no rum involved……….honest).
